Research Center of Remote Sensing & GIS

Research Center of Remote Sensing & GIS (ab. Remote Sensing Center) in Beijing Normal University was established in May, 1999. Remote Sensing Center focuses on the fundamental research, application research and engineering development of Remote Sensing and GIS. The center has undertaken a large number of R&D Programs, including National Climbing Project, 863 Program, Key Projects awarded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and International Cooperation Projects. The center has wide international academic cooperation and has formed a study group in which Academician Xiaowen LI plays the leading role, including more than 20 major academic leaders, more than 40 senior researchers and more than 10 outstanding young talents from overseas. At present, Remote Sensing Center has become the National Base of Remote Sensing Research and is also an innovative base for further strengthening international cooperation and improving domestic basic research on remote sensing.
