State key laboratory of Remote Sensing Science

The State key laboratory of Remote Sensing Science, built in 2003, is an important base for the study of remote sensing fundamental theory in China. The laboratory is composed of the key laboratory of Remote Sensing Information Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the research center of remote sensing & geographic information system of Beijing Normal University. The main study fields focus on the mechanism of remote sensing information, the high-tech frontier of remote sensing, the theory of remote sensing geospatial information and integration as well as basic applications of remote sensing. Emphasis areas include the remote sensing information mechanism, hyperspectral remote sensing, microwave remote sensing, multi-angle remote sensing, remote sensing in global change, and theory of remote sensing geospatial information integration, etc.
